Is anything paywalled?
No. The whole platform is Apache 2.0 — every feature, every driver, every API. Plans buy response: someone on the hook when you need them, not access to functionality you already run.
How do bands work in practice?
Your band is the higher of two counts — locations and server nodes — assigned at onboarding and revisited at renewal. Bands move when your estate changes shape (a new campus, a new region), never because a device count ticked up.
What happens if Spatium North disappears?
You keep a fully working system and all the source code, forever. Apache 2.0 means continuity does not depend on us — no proprietary vendor can offer that.
Can I buy every tier today?
Essential, yes — today, on early-adopter terms while the product is in beta; there’s no general release yet, and we say so. Standard opens when the staffing behind its same-day promise exists; Q3 2027 is our honest estimate, and the waitlist hears first. Premium commits us to 24×7, so it starts with a conversation and gets staffed per contract. We’d rather sell you the SLA we can honour than the one that demos well.
Can I get 24×7 without buying Premium?
Yes, for the case that matters at 3 a.m. The 24×7 severity-1 path is a flat yearly add-on on any Standard plan, in every band, priced with the grid above: a path that pages our on-call for severity 1 only — DNS or DHCP down for a site or a campus. Everything else stays Standard, same-business-day. Premium is the rung above it — the same 24×7 path plus HA architecture review, roadmap input and a closer working relationship. The path opens with Standard, at the same staffing gate, and the education and public-sector discount applies to it like any support plan.
Do I need a plan for a lab or test environment?
No — and that’s a real difference from commercial DDI, which usually charges a licence for every lab copy too. SpatiumDDI is free wherever you run it: lab, staging, a DR rehearsal, a second copy for training. Spin up as many as you like. A plan covers response on the deployment you name in it; the rest just run.
Is there a discount for education or public sector?
Yes: 15% off support plans and training for publicly funded institutions — universities, colleges, school boards, hospitals, municipalities and government bodies. Professional services are adjusted by scope rather than by rate. A prepaid term of three to five years takes a further 5%, public buyers can take a five-year fixed-price term instead, and discounts never stack past 40% off list.
